Request a State Proclamation for IAD 2026

About Proclamations

A proclamation is an official declaration issued by a government official, such as a governor, mayor, or county executive, to recognize a specific day, week, or month for awareness or celebration.

Getting a proclamation issued by your state or local government can be a powerful way to raise awareness about Angelman syndrome and demonstrate community support.

A perfect day to do this is for International Angelman Day, which is February 15th each year.

If you are interested in submitting a proclamation, please email KELY@ANGELMAN.ORG  for next steps and so efforts are not duplicated in your state!

Submission Deadlines for International Angelman Day (IAD) 2026

Please note the deadline for your state below in order to receive a proclamation for IAD.

If you plan to submit a request, please fill out this form to notify Kathryn Ely, ASF Family Resource Director, who is tracking this initiative.
